This is actually a scene from an artist challenge. This was one of three scenes you could paint. When I started this, not a lot of other painters were choosing to paint this one. I saw it and thought I'd love to do it because of all the different elements, the water, the rocks, the light filtering through the trees in the background. Think this came out pretty nicely. I've been having so much fun painting the cliffs and shoreline of Southern California that I thought I'd add yet another inviting painting to the mix. Especially since I'm sitting in my kitchen looking out at the snow falling in the backyard here in Connecticut. This painting makes me want to go down and get my feet wet in the clear water and maybe catch a crab.

This is the view of the tide pools at Point Loma San Diego at high tide. I wanted to get some interesting scenes of the tide pools when I was there but neglected to check the tides and arrived right at high tide. But then I noticed the interesting cliff formations and this pianting is the result.
