Wishing I was walking down to this beach with my surf board.

So I thought it'd be fun to post my concept sketch for this painting. I was sitting around this past Sunday afternoon watching the darkening skies and thunderstorms building on the horizon and was wishing that I could have gone to the beach this afternoon instead. So I made a quick sketch of a beach with a perfect aqua-marine colored wave getting ready to break. This is what was in my mind. Above is the finished painting, below is the sketch.

I love the evening sunsets. The colorful clouds contrasting against the darkening sky make for striking scenes. Here's a view of this evenings sun reflecting off of the clouds as seen from my backyard. I love to sit and watch the sun going down and I always think that it's heading west, just like I wish I was.

In honor of the French Grand Prix this past weekend I painted this view of the local farm fields. I've also been studing the works of Paul Cezanne and was inspired by some of his works for this painting.

My Abstract journey continues. This is inspired by some of the astronomy programs I've been watching over the weekend. I played around with some texture componds also to help make this pop. This reminds me of twin solar systems, one bright and yellow the other dark and red, which is why I call it the twins.
