6x6 Original Oil Gesso Panel $100

OK, call me strange but I have been watching the show 'O.C.' for the first time through on TV and I just saw the episode where Mischa Barton's character 'Marissa Cooper' dies. I felt like painting this after watching that.

Floral Study

6x8 Original Oil on Canvas Panel $NFS

This is a floral study that I did in preparation for a larger painting. Taking a picture of the painting was more difficult then creating the painting itself! Even this photo doesn't capture the full color of the yellow flowers and black to purple background.

Monday

6x6 Original Oil on Gesso Panel $50

Today was just a rainy Monday here in New England and I felt like mixing some colorful paint to cheer me up. This is actually a succulent plant but I went a little overboard and put the paint on extra heavy and did a bit of mixing just to see what would happen. I think the end result came out interesting.

These are some colorful flowers that I saw at the San Diego Zoo. I was struck by the huge thorns that protected the bright red flowers.

I liked the way my last painting of the palm trees at sunset came out that I thought I'd try a larger painting of the scene.

Evening Palms

My study of palms continues with this view of a row of palms against the evening light shining above the marine layer. I can feel the cool moist air moving in for the evening as the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean looking at this. I took a picture of this view at mission bay park in San Diego last summer.

Pond at fall

"Pond at fall"
by Rick Wojnilo
12x12 Original Oil on Canvas $400

A peaceful scene of the pond near my house in the fall with the trees just starting to turn colorful. I was out walking my dog Sam when I 'viewed' this. Sam loves to poke around in the trees and bushes and occasionally get his paws wet in the pond.

Reflection of Lily Pads

"Reflection of Lily Pads"
by Rick Wojnilo
20x16 Original Oil on Canvas $575

Reflection of lily pads in Balboa park San Diego. This is one of the many scenes I captured with my camera on my last trip out west. I painted the reflection as the dominant part of the painting because I found it more interesting than the actual lily pads with the distorted ripples of water.

Beach Dreaming

Today was the coldest day so far this winter here in New England. Somewhere around 7 degrees. I was day dreaming about the warm summer days and the beach today.
